“The School of Arts and Culture’s summer camp has had a really big impact on my son. He’s always been interested in the performing arts. It’s just something that not everybody has the ability to have been exposed to. I was never exposed to anything like that when I was that young so it was difficult for me to wrap my head around it. The benefits of doing performing arts is that it helps with your stage presence, it helps with your public speaking, it helps you be comfortable in your own skin. It really does and I’ve noticed that change in him. This program has helped him express himself.”

“Thanks to the Collective and the classes I have attended at Vecinos Activos and COPA, today I have the hope of being able to get a house of my own, of someday being able to fix my immigration status and to stop renting since it would hurt me to leave if the rent gets too expensive. I know where to go for everything, and I feel like I belong here because the Collective has made me feel that way with all the help and information they offer. When I moved here in 2019, I didn’t know anything about the Collective, now I know where everything is, and they have been incredibly helpful.”
