This month, staff from Grail Family Services and SOMOS Mayfair joined community members in advocating for the Children and Youth Master Plan (CYMP). It’s a bold, community-led initiative designed to support the healthy development of children, youth, and families across San José.
The CYMP focuses on creating and expanding support pathways for all children and young adults, from birth to age 24. As one of two demonstration sites, the Sí Se Puede Collective (SSPC) in the Mayfair neighborhood is helping to develop a neighborhood-level system of care that can be scaled city- and countywide.
Our goal is to bring a “No Wrong Door” approach to life. It will ensure that families receive the care and support they need, no matter where they enter the system. We’re especially grateful to the City of San José’s Neighborhood and Education Services Committee for championing this important work. Through a powerful partnership with Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services, the San José Public Library, Grail Family Services, and SOMOS Mayfair, we’re working together to implement the CYMP in East San José.
